Six of Pentacles

Uprightgenerosity · charity · sharing wealth · gratitude
Reversedstrings attached · power dynamics · debt · selfishness

A wealthy merchant in a purple robe uses a balanced set of scales to weigh out coins, distributing them carefully to two kneeling beggars at his feet.

The scales signify that true generosity is an act of justice and balance, not condescension. It recognizes that wealth is a circulating energy meant to be distributed with mindfulness and mathematical precision.

Upright

The Six of Pentacles is the card of karmic equilibrium. Upright, it indicates a healthy flow of resources where you are either in a position to generously mentor and fund others, or you are receiving the exact assistance you need from a benevolent source.

Reversed

Reversed, the flow of charity is corrupted by hidden power dynamics. It speaks of gifts offered with manipulative strings attached, abuses of authority, accumulating unpayable debt, or charity used purely to feed the ego.
