The Magician

Uprightmanifestation · willpower · resourcefulness · divine spark
Reversedmanipulation · wasted talent · illusion · misdirected will

The Magician stands before an altar displaying the four elemental tools of the tarot: the cup, the sword, the pentacle, and the wand. He represents the conscious mind applying focus to raw matter.

Above his head floats the lemniscate, the mathematical ribbon of infinity, signifying his mastery over the eternal cycles of creation and dissolution. As above, so below.

Upright

With one hand pointed to the heavens and the other to the earth, the Magician acts as a conduit for creation. Upright, he indicates the alignment of intellect, desire, and willpower to manifest your intentions into physical reality.

Reversed

Reversed, the Magician acts as a deceiver or a trickster. He signals talent left dormant, intentions warped by manipulation, or the misuse of personal power to create smoke and mirrors instead of true substance.
